When you cook meat over an open fire the fat drips off and falls into the fire.

Take off one boot at time. Put on a dry sock and put that boot on then do the other. Wring out the dirty sock and hang it in the armpit of your jacket. Body heat will dry it. Clean socks are best, but in the field dry is good enough.

To sleep put on hooded poncho with mylar blanket liner and lean back against tree. Put one arm through a packstrap, the other through rifle sling. If you have to suddenly unass the area you have all your gear at hand.vladhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00434296343159953900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-291961545993258201.post-71706569718071668362009-02-03T04:11:00.000-08:002009-02-03T04:11:00.000-08:00azurevirus said... yup ..really good so far..I ...azurevirus said...
yup ..really good so far..I just wonder how many of us "survivalists" could actually camp out on the ground with it cold enuff to snow. unquote

You can live outside if you "wear your house on your back". In this story the assets of thse pursuing him are spread thin so this sniper was working alone. It also shows the arrogance of TPTB and their disdain for the abilitys of their citizens.

What was to be an easy roundup at work and later a kill at the bridge turned out to be an utter failure on the part of the JBT's to properly guage the situation at hand.

The reason for the pursuiit will be revealed in a later post.Selous Scouthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08361069158893480853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-291961545993258201.post-71746664450578700712009-02-02T06:03:00.000-08:002009-02-02T06:03:00.000-08:00Are we going to find out why this guy is a fugitiv...Are we going to find out why this guy is a fugitive from justice, or is that irrelevant at this point?

Also, don't snipers usually work with spotters?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-291961545993258201.post-9019624631145445392009-02-01T18:48:00.000-08:002009-02-01T18:48:00.000-08:00Ground cayenne sprinkled in socks and shoes keep f...Ground cayenne sprinkled in socks and shoes keep feet warm.vladhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00434296343159953900noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-291961545993258201.post-27777496166106293512009-02-01T18:28:00.000-08:002009-02-01T18:28:00.000-08:00Good chapter. An idea to help him stay warmer: wit...Good chapter.

An idea to help him stay warmer: with all of those cattails in the area, he will be able to find a bunch of the fuzzy heads from the previous fall, and he can stuff the fluff between his T-shirt and his outer layer, for insulation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-291961545993258201.post-56026308851279114242009-02-01T17:44:00.000-08:002009-02-01T17:44:00.000-08:00Vlad,Henry wears a Boonie Hat, like "Me". Even though i have not ventured into the outlandish, the thought of the weather conditions that he is facing makes me wonder about my own GHB contents.

The weather he is experiencing is real weather that we are having or have had in my location.

My own kit would not be enough to get me as far as his had, so I am seriously considering locating 2 or more bucket caches near my workplace.

The homeless veterans living down by the river is a reality in my area.
