Missing In Action

It seems the "Survive The Worst" blog is no longer in existence. I have tried several approaches and get a "Blog not found" message from blogger.

Sorry to see you go, if this is indeed the case and not just a blogger goof-up!

  1. For those who don't know, Google Reader keeps its own archive of blogs even after the original poster removes it from Blogger, Wordpress, or wherever. If something has been posted on a blog and then deleted, or the whole blog removed, Google still has a copy that you can go read.

  2. Always a shame to lose a fellow blogger! Maybe it's just a vacation!

  3. Thanks for dropping by! HermitJim, I would think that if it were a vacation, the blog would still be there. But it is gone. Perhaps it is a vacation and the blogger will star afresh later. Still, its sad to lose another voice.

anonymous, I will have to try that out!

  4. It is sad and scary to have a site just go poof, with no explanation of any sort...

While it doesn't seem to be working for blogs, at least not the ones I have entered, do a search for "wayback machine", you can find previous versions of websites, even ones that no longer exist.

  6. I am guessing that a lot of the 1970s era survivalists are starting to go from old age: which of course is a bit ironic.

  7. I would suspect that any blog whose owner passed away would still remain available, just not updated, unless there were specific instructions to take it down. i suspect it may be more along the lines of either being tired of blogging or they have gone to ground, seeking anonymity or have taken up residence at their retreat.
