Another Date With Alice

One of my readers has asked for some more info on how to setup a Alice Pack with the Molle straps so I hit the trail to find some more informative posts on how to do this. This link is perhaps the best pictorial method I have found: Share your cheap yet potentially valuable tricks

Here is a YouTube video demonstrating the installation, I would do a few things differently but his method gets the job done. The video is dark in some places but I think it stills gives a pretty good tutorial on this mod. Keep in mind that the ACU Molle II mounts differently.

X2-FLARE BLASTS EARTH'S IONOSPHERE: Electromagnetic radiation from today's X2-class solar flare had a significant effect on Earth's upper atmosphere. As a wave of ionization swept across the dayside of the planet, the normal propagation of shortwave radio signals was scrambled. In Alachua, Florida, electrical engineer Wes Greenman recorded the effects using his own shortwave radio telescope. Click on the frequency-time plot to view an animation:

During the time that terrestrial shortwave transmissions were blacked out, the sun filled in the gap with a loud radio burst of its own. In New Mexico, amateur radio astronomer Thomas Ashcraft recorded the sounds. "This radio burst was a strong one and might be too intense for headphones," cautions Ashcraft.

Solar radio bursts are caused by strong shock waves moving through the sun's atmosphere. (Electrons accelerated by the shock front excite plasma instabilities which, in turn, produce shortwave static.) They are usually a sign that a CME is emerging from the blast site--and indeed this flare produced a very bright CME. Solar flare alerts: text, voice.

The sun erupted with two of the strongest solar flares it can unleash Friday, just days after blasting an intense solar storm at Earth.

The sun fired off a flare that registered at X1.7 on the space weather scale at 4:01 a.m. EDT (0801 GMT) Friday, then followed with an X.2-class event at 11:07 a.m. EDT (1507 GMT). NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured video of the X1.7 solar flare, which came after several smaller sun storms over the last few days.

Both powerful flares erupted from a new sunspot cluster called Region 1882 and sparked temporary radio blackouts, officials with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) said in an update. But neither eruption is likely to spark major geomagnetic storms in Earth's magnetic field, they added.

No reports of damage after 7.3 magnitude earthquake hits Japan

  An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck early Saturday off Japan's east coast, the U.S. Geological Survey said, and Japan's emergency agencies issued a tsunami advisory for the region that includes the crippled Fukushima nuclear site.

Tsunamis of up to 15 inches were reported at four areas along the coast, but the advisory was lifted less than two hours after the quake.

There were no immediate reports of damage on land. Japanese television images of harbors showed calm waters. The quake hit at 2:10 a.m. Tokyo time about 170 miles off Fukushima, and it was felt in Tokyo, some 300 miles away.

 I think this might be a good weekend to practice your Earthquake drills!

2 dead, 2 in critical condition after shooting at Nevada middle school

Two people are dead and two boys are in critical condition after a shooting Monday at a middle school in Nevada, authorities say.

Angela Rambo, a spokeswoman for the Renown Regional Medical Center, said both people injured in the shooting at Sparks Middle School in Sparks, Nev., were males.
Washoe County School District Police didn't immediately offer details of the identities of the dead. They said the suspect is "down," but offered no further details.

 
So awfully convenient, wouldn't you say? Nothing that happens anymore surprises me. The Government manipulation of the press and these horrific attacks against our children all point back at those who dominate this Nation. They don't want our children safe, if they were, what else would they manipulate us with? I guess we will just need to watch and see how this develops.

Today is not a good day.
There is panic everywhere and people are going nuts.
The Liberals are screaming that the conservatives are at fault.
The Conservatives are lambasting the Liberals as Morally decayed and bringing this upon us thereby.

It's Gods Wrath.

All I know is it is about to happen and no one can do anything about it anymore.
It will be here within hours and then political parties with their agendas will not matter anymore.

I gotta get ready, they are coming back.

Those without hope or any recourse but violence. They were held down by the very political party they wholeheartedly embraced, and now they are reaping the benefits of that deadly embrace.

I have food and ammo to last me, my family, for a long time as I saw the writing on the wall years ago.
The government, in its infinite wisdom, made it more and more difficult to remain independent of them. And now when they are needed most, they are failing miserably.

There must be a hundred dead body's out there. God knows I emptied every magazine and with the combination of hollow points and soft points, one shot kills center of mass did their job.

I am still reloading my magazines, the family is huddled in the safe room, terrified, unable to act, to simply reload for me.
So I must do it alone.

All ammo was placed on stripper clips upon receipt and before placing in the homemade bandoliers. That was done years ago, when the ammo was plentiful and before the shortages.
The government contrived shortages.

The AR jammed and so I grabbed the shotgun. It is a cheap knockoff of the Rem 870, but is made of steel and is only cheap in purchasing price. At least 80% of Rem 870 parts and accessories will fit it so I put on Ghost Ring sights, a barrel heat shield, butt stock shell holder, side saddle shell holder and a tactical flashlight with pressure switch. It got damn heavy with all that crap attached but after I began working out I did not notice the weight so much. I filled a M16 mag pouch with a mix of cut shells and 000 buckshot for resupply. I hated the sling and chest bandoliers with a passion as the shells had a habit of becoming dislodged during actual action, not shooting cardboard bad guys!

I hear the bark of an AK-47 next door. My buddy Fred bought one. He tried to get me to buy one also, but I went with the AR instead.
Glad he is still able to fire that thing.

God bless that shotgun! I was able to hold off this wave of assholes. My oldest boy is cleaning the AR for me now while I watch the street. I am not sure how well that safe room will hold up against a determined mob, but there is a hatch in the floor that lets you into the tunnel I dug that leads off into the woods. I dug it after the room was completed, so there would be no outside knowledge of its existence. I created a small room down there with gear lockers and a gun safe for my other firearms.

We each have a bugout bag located down there, hanging on the wall. If it gets too bad up here we will bolt the door and leave by way of the tunnel.

They snuck back, and I almost missed them.
I got five of them before they retreated. Fred got some too. Why they keep coming back, I don't know. Perhaps they think, correctly, that we have supplies here.
Not that it will matter in an hour.
Nothing will matter after that.
Maybe.

They say that no one will survive but how do we know that is true?
