Garden Plant Health Resources

If you are gardening this year and your plants develop diseased properties, you can use these links to help determine the problem and the solution.

Horticultural Help

Symptoms of Deficiency In Essential Minerals

Plant Disease

Garden Fertilizers, pH and Micro-Nutrients

Guide to Symptoms of Plant Nutrient Deficiencies

Guide to Pests and Diseases

plant disease

There are lots more websites out there covering these topics, just do a search. These would be good resources to download and add to your "Survival Bible" 3 ring binder(s) while the 'net and the info is still free and available.

  2. As a long time gardener I can say that growing food isn't that hard and anyone can do it. However! In any given year the conditions can cause crop failure of one or more plant types. Even the best gardener can lose half his tomatoes in a too cold or too wet summer. The point being plan to lose some crops and plant alternatives and more then you need. When the potato blight hit Ireland they were unable to deal with this (partly political and partly the climate) and sufferred severely. If they were to have had a larger variety of crops that story would have been different.
